Fabella and Strömma expand their long-standing partnership with a new hop on-hop off experience that blends exploration with immersive learning.
After nearly three years of close collaboration, Fabella and Strömma are deepening their partnership with the launch of a new generation of learning-driven Hop On-Hop Off tours across Stockholm. The expanded solution uses Tracksys tachograph positioning to power a seamless, app-free, multi-language learning experience - blending tourism, education, and technology into one.
A Partnership Built on Innovation and Co-Creation
Fabella and Strömma have collaborated for nearly three years, co-developing over 14 tours in 10 languages across land and water. Their close partnership has consistently solved technical challenges, most recently developing a robust positioning system after GPS disruptions affected mobile signals.
For boats, they created an AIS-based solution using the vessel’s own positioning system, providing greater reliability and removing dependence on individual phones. For land routes, they leveraged vehicle tachograph data to ensure accurate, unified positioning for buses. These innovations now form the backbone of the new Hop On-Hop Off experience, enabling seamless, immersive storytelling for visitors.
Transforming Sightseeing Into Learning
Tours become a personal experience through the tales visitors learn on their journey. Through a simple QR code, guests can access captivating stories directly in their browser - no app installation required. The experience launches instantly and responds in real time to the vehicle’s location, triggering:
